I made a little appearance at the Central Valley Cosplay Gathering yesterday. A family plan kind of limited my time at CVCG, but it was a good 2.5 hours of hanging with a few good friends. The summer heat wasn't in full effect when I got there, plus the trees surrounding the gathering space kept it good in the shade. Brought the main gear, but primarily used the Fujifilm X-T1 and 56mm. It's such a beast of a camera + lens combo that I don't use much. I'm glad I brought it out to this event since it performs very well outdoors.
CVCG happens once a season. Summer is probably my least visited one, but that little free time in the morning allowed me to go. People that attend are encouraged to pay $5 for the park space and food/drink provided. It's a really fun gathering that I wish had more traffic, especially with the large cosplay crowd in Sacramento and central valley. Haven't found word on the fall/autumn event, but I'm sure that will be announced fairly soon. The summer date was announced rather quick after the spring event concluded.
